Play Street Museum Fairfax is an engaging and educational neighborhood children's museum with activities for toddlers and children up to 8 years of age. Our small scale museum transports your young ones to The Farm where they can explore interactive exhibits that mimic a real barn, cozy farmhouse, and feed and seed store. Each exhibit provides an immersive, hands-on learning experience for guests young and old. Stop by the ice cream parlor and let your toddler set up shop while your big kids check out the giant light brite. Adults and children are welcome to join together and make new friends during one of our reserved playtime sessions or have the place all to themselves by booking the perfect birthday party, event, or field trip.

The creativity never stops at Play Street Museum with monthly themes centered around notable figures, unique holidays, interesting cultures, and more. Weekends include events whose themes range from pottery or canvas painting to space exploration, dino digs and more! Your young one will surely find more than a few things to pique their interest and we think that you’ll find each special event engaging and insightful.
Much More Than a Play Place
At Play Street, we’re serious about learning. We take the traditional Children’s Museum model to the next level by providing one of a kind educational experiences right in your local neighborhood. Each of our museum exhibits offers interactive learning opportunities, playable environments, and fully immersive entertainment for your little ones. Our daily playtime by reservation sessions gives kiddos the chance to hone their social skills as they connect with others through play. They’ll get their energy out by working their body and brain when exploring the rotating Discovery Rug exhibit and will have the chance to build on their natural creativity at the art exploration station. Sensory play is also at the forefront when your junior scientist takes a trip to our fully customizable slime lab or grabs a self-contained sensory kit to continue the fun and learning at home.
Frequently Asked Questions
Admission is $18.00 per child ages 1-8. Older & younger children are free if accompanied by a paying sibling. Older children are welcome to play along but must play in a calm and respectful manner.
Play Street Museum Fairfax is offering Playtime by Reservation Monday-Sunday. To be guaranteed a spot, please reserve a spot by clicking the button above.
Walk-ins are always welcome as long as space is available!
Session times are: Monday-Friday: 8:30-10:00, 10:30-12:00, 12:30-2:00, 2:30-4:00, 4:30-6:00, and Saturday-Sunday: 9:00-10:30.
Playtime by Reservation allows us to control the number of people in each session and the ability to wipe down high touch surfaces between sessions.
Parents or guardians must sign a waiver for each child under 18 before entering the play space.
Please note that we are not a drop-off center or childcare facility. Parents and caregivers must stay in the play space and supervise their children at all times.
If at all possible, please do not bring strollers into Play Street Museum.
Our restroom is outfitted with a baby changing station. Please change all diapers in the restroom.
We have free WiFi!
We do not allow food in the play area. Be sure to fill up your little one's belly before you arrive.
Outside drinks for children and adults are permitted and encouraged. Bring in your favorite drink and relax for a few!
We reserve the right to ask children that are being disruptive to leave if they are interfering with the learning & play of others.
